‘Chisun Inn Kagoshima’ in Tenmonkan, Southern Kyushu’s Premier Business District2008.03.05

Effective April 10, 2008, Solare Hotels & Resorts Co. Ltd. (http://www.solarehotels.com/english/) will open Chisun Inn Kagoshima, Solare’s first property in Kagoshima Prefecture.

Just a one minute walk from Tenmonkan Dori tram station, Chisun Inn Kagoshima is situated along Izuro Street in the premier business district of Tenmonkan, Kagoshima city, almost next door to Mitsukoshi department store. The newly built 14-story hotel has a total of 100 guestrooms, comprised mainly of single rooms but also including double rooms with bunk beds, and family rooms equipped to accommodate up to four people.

Kagoshima Chuo Station is predicted to become a major hub when the Kyushu Shinkansen becomes fully operational in 2011 linking Kagoshima Chuo Station with Hakata. Travel time between the two stations will be reduced to a mere hour and twenty minutes. Kagoshima is also the gateway to popular eco-tourist attractions such as the Satsuma Islands, including Yakushima, Tanegashima, Tokunoshima and the Amami Oshima Islands. The area has also attracted attention as the setting for the popular NHK period drama featuring Atsuhime, a Kagoshima-born princess who lived during the Meiji era.

In addition to the Chisun Inn Kagoshima, Solare operates six hotels in Kyushu: Chisun Hotel Hakata, Chisun Grand Sasebo, Loisir Hotel Nagasaki, Chisun Hotel Kumamoto, plus two roadside-type hotels, the Chisun Inn Tosu and Chisun Inn Kagoshima Miyuki Fueda. Future openings will include the roadside-type Chisun Inn Omura Nagasaki Airport, scheduled to open in June 2008, Chisun Inn Munakata, to open later this year, and Chisun Inn Yawata, set to open in spring 2009.
